I would have to agree that for the big dog breed Labs are probably the best all around. short haired labs will shed less then the furry ones, I think, but they are all great fun dogs, and respected for their temperment as opposed to rott's or pit's that are feared for the temperments (unjustifiably for the most part, but you still hear too many stories about "good" dogs that suddenly attacked the neighbors kid for no reason)
