I've got the tall hoops and even with a 2" body lift I had to cut about a 6"x10" hole in each fenderwell for the shock towers to stick thru.   Without the body lift, you have to cut more of the fenderwell out, but it is not an issue.  My buddy has the tall hoops on his rig with no body lift, and we trimmed them up really nicely to clear the hoops.

Spend some time on it, and use some edge finishing trim to avoid the sharp edges.
