they're easy to do, most of us don't have a SST so we just shoot in the dark when it comes to knuckle alignment. most of the time you'll be fine with reusing the factory shims, i like to put an extra one on the top to bring the preload to about 12-15lbs instead of the 4-8 like the FSM calls for.
