Please educate me on how the stupid thing works.  I put all of the parts together and it is obvious that the springs push the two inner pieces out to mesh the teeth with the outer pieces and the spacers push the outer pieces out to disengage the locker, but what actually pushes spacers?  It must somehow be the pin, but I don't know how that part works.  Help me out!
