. I was totally serious when I said they should require IQ tests before you're allowed to ride one. That being said, I've ridden long enough to know that even the most intelligent person occassionaly checks his brain when he throws a leg over one of them and does something stupid. I don't think they should ban bikes either, and I wouldn't want to advocate restrictions from big brother, but I don't really see why we should have bikes with 150 rear wheel horsepower that weigh less than 500 pounds! I wouldn't mind having a big bike for the track, but would jump at the opportunity to trade my bike for an imported cbr, vfr or rvf 400 for the street. My next bike might even be an sv650, but that's more for if I start racing, there are less people in that class and a much lower squid percentage.
