Re: thinking of doing custom crossover steering
« on: Jul 27, 2005, 02:34:46 PM »
i have an 85 yota and the front springs are completely shot. i'm talking like negative arch. i do have a set of stock front springs that are ok but i kinda wanted something that would lift it. i don't have money so i was thinking of going with rears up front but then with the lift i would probly have to go with crossover steering. once again i don't have cash so i was wondering how hard it was to do crossover steering without the kit. i have access to a shop so tools aren't a problem and me and my buddies have fab skills so taht's not a problem i was just wondering how much work was involved? what kind of things am i gunna have to fab? if someone has done it and it's very complicated let me kno so i don't get in over my head. thanks for any input
hey bud, im in the same boat, on my last rig, i fabed up seven different high steer setups, one caused a rollover, the other six sucked ass, i then payed the money to marlin for the right parts, and wala it worked great, you can not factor in "ackerman " angles, which are necessary to a properly functioning sydstem- i know how the money thing goes, but is saving 350$ worth the potential loss of your rig, or your life??? i doint think so, im as poor as it gets, but im buyin the kit if it means no food for a few weeks
