I put one in mine. Worked fine. Eventually it crapped out (was the plastic body with key type) and i just put both negative ends in one post. Kinda stupid cause I cut a hole in my inner fender.

I'll edit this. I used THIS STYLE and just cut a hole in my inner fender and had the key accessible from the fender well. This worked fine because I had trimmed fenders and no plastic fender well things. I'm curious why you'd want to put this on your truck? Do you have a battery drain? Are you wanting anti theft equipment? I can't see any ill effects, but I'd recommend making a bracket inside the engine bay so you're not cutting holes in your truck.
