Its a bit hard to say as I havent driven a TE but otherwise very happy with the conversion But with all the discussions on 1KZs cracking heads I changed the thermostat to a 72 deg one and made a sandwich plate to go under the oil filter to run an oil cooler because I found with the turbo'd 3L towing a campertrailer on hills the oil temp would get to 116 deg Celsius but now wont get over 96 deg C The truck weighs just over 2 ton and would get 24/25 mpg empty but towing 19mpg and with the 1KZ 22/23 mpg ang towing 19 mpg but with heaps more grunt although I think the factory turbo is crap, below 2000 rpm the truck is gutless wore than a 2L , boost starts at 2000rpm really gets going at 2300 rpm (10 psi ) and lasts to 3100 then the boost starts dropping off , but I think the snorkel and air cleaner pipes might be helping the problem as the are only 2 1/2" so the next items are a new performance turbo ( at least 15 psi ) and a 3" snorkel
