I had a 2000 CA 3rz Tacoma with 2 cats and only ran a downstream cat and had a simulator on the rear o2 so I didn't get a CEL, my motor too had a burnt some valves but it was from before I even swapped it in I'm sure , it had a popping sound and was down on power , like mentioned valve jobs are super important with the rz motors
