The easiest and what would seem fool proof way to set the distributer is in the fsm, put the crank to 5deg. and set the distributer to where the 2 points (I don't know what they are called) are pointing at each other. Of coarse make sure the motor is on the right stroke and the rotor points toward #1. This should get it pretty close.
