More of a whine. Like a 60 cycle hum that changes frequency (increases) with increased engine speed.
Used to have solid core plug wires on a hot rod 2.0L EAO, Carl's Jr. asked me to turn off my engine 'cause they couldn't hear what I was saying over the static.
