Treadwright here is South Dakota is retreading 37x12.50R16.5 that they sell for $205.00. The only thing I can think is that they are using the old carcasses of Goodyear Wrangler MT's that the military once used on the Hummer. I have seen these same tires for sale on the Internet for $99. That’s a great price for a tire of that size but someone here made a good point of getting a replacement easily if you trash one. I have seen 315/75R16 and 315/70R17 (35" equivalent) retreads selling for as little as $157.00 my problem has been finding inexpensive 16 and 17 inch 6 lug rims that would fit a tire of this size. I.E. 16x8 or 17x8 aluminum. I have seen some nice FJ rims for cheap on ebay but stock rims only come as wide as 7 inch. Has anyone run a 12.50 wide tire on a rim this narrow? If so what was your experiences, pro/cons?
