First pics of my crawler build, running the MC10 adapter,m gear drive crawl box to chain drive rear case!!
I got to the point of installing the snap ring on the main shaft, but I broke my old pair of snap rings, and broke the new pair I bought
Gonna get some real heavy duty ones this week
I've been following the marlin online instructions for assembling the crawler, awesoem job guys!! Very easy to do
I can't wait to finish this!!
*EDIT*
Now that I have almost finished moving, it is time to get to the important stuff!! I have a long list of things I'd like to do to my truck this summer, and decided that I would compile them into one thread
Here is what I want/need to do, and the possible order of events
1. Install duals
2. driveshafts
3. Half doors
4. Rear Bumper
5. Body work/ Paint (.98 walmart paint doesn't hold up well)
6. Rocklights
7. CB
8. If there is time and $$, SA!

I've got the reduction box and the adapter ready to be bolted together (I think) but I'm not sure what the two things in picture6 are? Can anyone help me out? Please? I'd like to get these together tonight
Also, anyone whose put these together, does it look like I'm missing anything? I don't think so, I've followed the dirctions from the marlincrawler.com site very closely, so I'm not too worried, but a double check never hurts

Ok, i think you're probably right on the first one, but not so sure on the second one. THere really isn't a good place for it to go (these things kinda just fall together it seems like) but mabye it'll become clear when I pull the t-case outta the truck
Thanks Glen

The black double lipped seal looks like a tranny output seal.
That's about all I got...
I am confident that once you have the t-case out you will be able to put all the pieces of the puzzle together correctly.

Brandon, no, I broke them on the mainshaft, going into the adapter
there is a legitamate snap ring on that side. However, I did use my snap ring pliers on the lockrings as well
took a little finessing, but it worked. Thanks for the offer, so far its going well, but when I get it done, Ill have to bring it by to show ya

I was wondering who got the other set
I do indeed have #2
I don't think that is quite right though, #2 being in before #1??
I'm going to do my SA later this summer, using a square d-shaft so I don't have to rebuild it later

funny, sounds like our order of mods is just reversed
I'm running a high pinion, so not sure if I'll need to run a CV shaft, but I want the ability to drive at 50mph in 4wd so no square tube shaft...

I think he is refering to a snap ring like the one pictured below on the main shaft. It's a hefty little guy. Two sets of hands are nice to have when installing, but it can be done with one.
Yes? No?

I bought some lisle heavy duty snap ring pliers, those strecthed that snap ring far enough that I could slide it on by myself
its nice having good tools for the job

Not really, I've got the crawler completely together, just need the time to drop it in, pickup my front driveshaft from yotee, and order my rear. I'm probably gonna start memorial day weekend, after I'm done moving
