What' s the '046' box on the transfercase ?
I get excited seeing all of the tweaks to this thing.
Shift solenoid for the turn of the dial 4x4?
And how much lift did you get out of the suspension mods?
Still rear drums??
I see a shifter and more gear reduction in your future.
Nothing the matter with rear drums.......http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2015/08/2016-toyota-tacoma-still-rear-drum-brakes-heres-video/BTW, my 86 stock rear drums are bigger..............
when you open up this 2GR-FKS and get it into the high RPM range man it pulls dang good.

We asked Tacoma Chief Engineer Mike Sweers last week why the new Tacoma didn’t have discs in the back (unlike the new Tundra) and he pointed specifically to that piercing wail — and that most owners don’t need them anyhow.
Nov 2, 2016: "Stage 1" - Differential Gearing-- Because my truck is a manual, it already came with 4.30:1 gearing (vs 3.901:1 for 6cyl autos). So the drop to 4.88:1, which is a staple Hilux/minitruck gear ratio with history dating back to the late 80s and rice paddy use in Brazil, will only net a 13.5% reduction meaning any tire size larger than 34.7" (30.6" + 13.5%) will cause the truck to become overgeared. There is another common aftermarket Toyota ratio, the 5.29:1, but Nitro has no interest in making this ratio for the 3rd gen. Their reasoning is that anyone who needs that low of gearing would ditch IFS anyway. I agree. Here we have another negative strike against keeping the truck IFS.

It's even putting out more HP & TQ per liter than the almighty 4.0-liter 1UZ V8. Also look at the Lexus version which is even better (however tuned for a car so likely even less bottom end TQ). I'm sure the complaint stems from less bottom end torque as it not only makes 1 ft-lb less torque but you also have to wait an additional 900 RPM to get there. I'd love to see dyno graphs of both engines. I should get mine dyno'd just to see what it looks like. There is a company called Orange Virus Tuning, https://www.ovtuned.com, who has found very interesting facts about newer Toyota engines such as Toyota closing the throttle once some predetermined peak (limited) power is met. (I can understand why; This is a simplified way to ensure all engines have the same rated output.) With new ECU programming, they have already shown to make upwards of 26 more HP and 30 more TQ from just a simple remap of the Lexus 3.5-liter engine. In case you're wondering, yes, I've already contacted them While I agree drum brakes have their place, the static holding force of a caliper and disc simply cannot be beat for Rock Crawling. When I went to discs in the rear of my '81 it became so much easier to hold the truck at a stop on very steep climbs such as long steep canyon climbs out at the Hammers.I'll give this about a 2 out of 10 because:Here it is folks, the prime reason in plain daylight as to why we don't have a rugged live front axle Turbocharged Diesel 70-series Land Cruiser here. "They are too noisy and most customers don't want them anyhow" Regards,BigMike
With 4.88 you are only "OVER gear by 0.04:1 on 35's since the calculator calls for 4.92 with 35's.
You will be under gear by 0.37:1 with 5.29. I'll just switch to 4.88 and keep it simple.
I don't know what you are talking about ARB has had 4.88 and 5.29 geared lockers for the 3rd gen Tacoma here is Canada since "LAST" year.
Here's another one for ya....the current Hilux 2.8D
