Took me a few months with how busy I've been and how little I've been able to drive my truck but finally have a little over 500 miles on it since the build . For once nothing else is going on and I may have a little time to work on it the next few days. My question is I hit the break in period for my gears. Both front and rear were put in at the same time. But as of now I've still been driving around with no front drive shaft and the hubs on free. So for sure I'm going to change the rear diff. Fluid but what do you guys think about the front? Should I go ahead and change it to or hang tight awhile  :dunno:

Anybody had Luck running S-10 blazer/ jimmy bumpstops. Picked up a set a while back after I couldn't get the last set I picked up to work out the way I wanted. The Blazer stops have good height and seem to have good bit of give aswell. Can't possibly be any worse than the harsh T.g. stops I used up front. They're just mocked up right now but look like they're worth a shot. Also think I hopefully may have figured out the bad creeking sound I hear only at very low speed while backing out of my drive way. When I moved my steering box about 1 1/2" forward I thought I had rotated it enough not to have to cut the core support. But noticed now the front corner of the box is pressed against the support. Thinking that may be it when my body is flexing while backing out, its just scraping?   Hopefully.                           Sorry about the sideways pictures unable to fix them right now

I checked the best I could. I didn't see what I expected to. I didn't want to pull the whole box again to cut the support, unless it's the last resort. Ended up loosening the 3 bolts and using a pry bar to gently push it back to maybe get 1/8" at the most. Only with a short test ride it seemed good. But it was rediculos how loud it was and for sure was coming from the driver side. I had replace a crushed spring bushing a while ago hoping it was the issue. Driving down the road its all good just slow off camber like coming out of my shop. I'll know better in the morning.

Steering box doesn't seem to be rubbing any more    Going to run through all my fluids today. Anyone have any thoughts if I should change my front diff. Fluid after break in period but no front shaft ?

Unless you turned the hubs in the front diff shouldn't be turning.

 Good to know and I couldn't see any reason it would be needed but  just one of those things I started over thinking and ended up making it more complicated than necessary. I have a tendency to do that :smack:

In the few months since I had started my SAS I've had two pretty decent size rust spots pop up ( pretty much out of now where). On driver and passenger side corners. Same exact spot on both doors. I have since cleaned out all the drains in the fenders and doors. When I bought the truck it was pretty much rust free, which is pretty tough around here. Anyway its driving me crazy. Can anyone point me in the right direction for lower door replacement skins. I've been able to find full and half door skins. I'm only going to be replacing just the small areas maybe up to 1/4 of the lower section. So I don't want to buy a full half door. Its way past bondo and at this point I'd rather cut all the junk out and star fresh with no worries of it popping back up in 6 months. Thanks fellas

Why not just buy whole doors from the junk yard? I'm sure there are tons down here that are rust free. If you need assistance I can pull some and band to a pallet for shipping.

Its odd how both passenger and drivers side have both started to split vertically like this. Dont recall ever seeing rust open up like this much less identically on either side

I had come across a set about a month before this crap started, I was going to use them for half doors but never got around to the hour drive to get them. And I'm at the yard by me fairly often and always on the look out, very tough to find anything worth a damn. I've got a buddy that going to do the windshield frame and doors at the same time so the works not the issue it tracking down the part. No issues if I needed any 60yr old GM piece ... :dunno:

Peel it off. Look for filler. It almost appears as if there is body filler on there that could have been hiding the issue.

I look at it as an easy fix remove 8 bolts and put them back in vs hours of welding and rubbing on paper thin toyota shwet metal. Like I said there are tons of them here

I know I've got filler in just about some part of every other body panel but it didt look to be the chipping like cracked bondo. my lower rear bed is like that chipped filler. But Ill check for sure.

Sure as hell looks just the way cracked filler does but feels like its just rust. Maybe had a skim coat on it because Im not seeing the think crap that your used to when it cracks. Either way Its one of those things I want to do correctly. Going to keep my eyes open for the best option. Always have my eyes open for any good parts If I can find good doors I'll go that way

What are you wanting to spend on a set? Power with vent windows only came on sr5 so they are a little tougher to find but I know we're a few sets are. Also remember when looking that 4 runner doors WILL NOT FIT. They are a few inches shorter.

Well I guess I slacked off for a bit ( 6 months) on keeping up on here. But actually managed to get a little work done on the truck at least 😜

Yea I've always liked them. Especially in winter. But since I put historic tags on, I'm technically " not supposed to haul stuff" anymore. I dont much anyway but at least it helps keep it low key if I need to.

Went full race car While the SR5 seats were great compared to most anything else from 27 years ago, they were starting to get a little worn. Found a set of 05' Impreza/wrx seats. Had to make a few brackets for the rear mounts but overall close fit. These things make a world of difference. The tight upper and lower side bolsters are great

Second best pile of parts to come off the truck. Lc engineering block off plates.  Any 3.0 guys that have already done this. I have a few last vacum lines I'm not sure of. Trying to get as much junk out as possible
