yeah, dont do the tag swap thing. You will end up having to provide proof of registration eventually and then you will be cooked.

yeah, i just talked to my dad, he does this all the time with his suzuki samurai, and what he told me is if it is altered as in not stock like having a 350. you have to make it pass. they wont waive it no matter how much you put into it to make it pass, so sorry. i feel for you

they just test for sertain thing that the engine puts out like hydrocarbons and stuff they done have different standards for different engines its all 1 standard

well the way it was explained to me is the cat super heats the exaust and needs to be close to the headers therefore it doesnt do any good behind the muffelers. that could be wrong though. the best thing to do is call a muffeler shop and see what they have to say about it

ya but then i couldnt say i did it my self, and if somethng were to go wrong, i wouldnt kno wut they did, i like to build/fix my own

yeah its a pride thing. i like to do stuff my self too. but with the motor if something were to go wrong i would just take it back to them and make them fix it. i want to put a 4.3 in mine but i wouldnt even know where to start.

In CA the cats have to come before the mufflers. I dunno if it is the same where you are, but I think it prolly is

The hotter the cat is the better the filter out the crap so you could put them behing your mufflers and hold your truck at like 4k's while your in line to heat the hell out of your cats

And they never pop the hood so you could just tell thm that it is the stock engine with some sick exhaust on it

get a po box in bfe where they dont have it and register the truck there. another nice thing about livin in the sticks no theft and no emissions
