1984 Pickup A/C amplifier diagnostics
« on: Aug 16, 2015, 06:35:16 PM »
I am looking for any information on diagnosing the A/C amplifier on my 1984. Any wiring diagrams or diagnostic procedures would be greatly appreciated. It a 1984, 22r with factory air, 2 wd with a 4 speed. I have no power out to the compressor clutch. I have already leak tested the system and retrofitted it for R135a I have found the A/C amplifier but I am unsure as to what wires should be grounded and which should have power. This truck sat for 3 year before I bought it and the owner said the A/C has never worked since he owned it 6 years prior.

Thanks in advance.

There's a fuse for the AC clutch coil behind the glove box.

Check that first..
