I have seen some incredible MAACO paint jobs.  Its just that the owner did all the prep work.

Right.. well I got a rough idea on a quote from a fiberglass shop that does that kinda stuff like "re-gelling" old fiberglass...
$6000+ !!!!

Please someone tell me there is a cheaper option that I'm not seeing?

Line-x comes in different colors, and has been used on boat hulls, RV roofs and campers for a few years now, might check with  local shop about the cost and added weight. Another option would be a wrap, you can get an estimate here WrapWorld, if you don't have a place close by that does it

might be, I'm wanting for some coloring  agent to show up for an old boat I'm working on. a 69 sears gamefisher. so old glass.
I've done the wet sanding and filled the holes and nics with "kitty hair" (good stuff)  next I'm going to spray the resin with a cheap spray gun
if that works don't see way it would not work on the camper shell. the resin run $50 at OSH. did not price the gallon of acetone. and
you could color the resin white.   the camper would most likely need 2 gallons. that's 2 of resin and acetone.

can you spray auto paint?
A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

So here's a little update.. I've done just about nothing with the truck/Chinook camper.. both are separated,

But here is something I did do, I weighed the cab and frame before putting the camper back to tell just how much a Chinook weighs.. ...So currently cab and frame is at 2830 lbs

Also, I think I discovered the problem to my "fuel drinking" problem.. I was driving one day and the gauge was sooo random, and finally fell flat... see what I'm getting at here... So I scraped and cleansed the plug and terminals on the top of the tank, she still does it.. So I may need to change up that plug.. but yeah in short I don't think it was my "fuel" but the fuel gauge .. anyway we'll see once I finally secure that plug tight.. 😁🤙

The resistance that comes through the sender is off. Remove it, you may be able to clean it. The contact part inside of the tank.

Does any one even follow this thread anymore haha. But heres the truck now. I've been living and driving out of it now. And have been just about everywhere from CO to FL to NY.
Diesel heater and solar for rear . A second house battery. Fridge freezer 12v. And fuel injection going good. But I do have a problem.  If anyone could help.

Recently.  On the 1st  cold start of the morning.   She just cranks cranks cranks. Until I unplug the MAF (fuel injection was donored from a 93 pickup) . At which she start and run for a few seconds, from the residual fuel pressured in the rail... but Then dies.  Obviously.  . And after doing this dance where I unplug and plug the MAF a good 10 to 20 times. With cranking the motor inbetween. She finally starts up with it plugged in. . Any ideas?

I'll post some more photos too soon

Was the engine flooded? Maybe the injectors leak? I have never tinkered with EFI systems so I may be of limited help

I don't know what year your EFI is.

See if there's a fuel pump check connector in the engine compartment.     You short the connector together so the pump will run without the engine running.    This way you can pressurize the fuel rail before starting.

Another possibility is the cold injector timer (if you have one).

EFI is a stock system from a 93 pick up . .
A curious problem. I did pull the the siliconed cap off the MAF. And jumped the 2 terminals that give the signal for the fuel pump to come on. While the key is in the run position. And it does    it works and runs the pump.

Could it be a blown head gasket by any chance?

Possibly. I'll do a compression check soon. But I did just do an ohm test on the Cold start injector switch.  And it was well out of spec.  Came up at ~91 ohm. In some cold water I stuck in the freezer for maybe 5 to 10 min. Just a crust layer of ice was forming on the surface. (Well below 50°F)  And it should be between 30 - 50 ohm . Any temp below 50°F.

And 70 - 90 ohm above 68°F

Man I love this thing! We need more pictures of it.
On the cold start issue, have you verified that the cold start injector is functional?

Yep , so heres the update. It was indeed the cold start injector time switch.  But that thing is $230 . So instead, for about $2.00 in wiring.  And a switch.  I  broke off the plug end of the injector switch . (Which sits in the front on the lower intake) soldered a wire to the side where the green wire, coming from the CSI, would plug into. And ran that into the cab with a switch that then goes to a ground. .

The whole function of the $230 CSI time switch is to ground out the green wire when its below 50°F . Thus letting the CSI to fire. To give the engine that extra fuel it needs. To start up(like a choke on a carb). Since I can tell if its 50 or below.  I just flip the switch in the cab. And it does its thing. And just to be sure I wasnt going to be burning extra fuel the whole drive. That injector only gets signal when the key is in the ST (start) position.

I'll post more pics. But theres the story. Little wordy. But just incase anyone reads the thread, with the same issue.

Got a new battery, and rechecked my compression.  Here where the results.

It didnt build compression too quick unfortunately.  Probably cranking 7 to 10 seconds each cylinder before the needle stopped jumping .

They all read between 125psi and 128psi
Heres what the worst spark plug looked like too.

They were put in about a month ago.

And I do have a good size cloud behind me. Most drives. But not all. But this might be due to the cold weather. And only driving a few miles at a time

Man, this thing is perfect. Just read through the whole build thread, and am SO happy to see that it's still alive and freakin thriving! You ever come through SLC, UT or down to Moab, hit me up! It would be a blast to go camping together.
