If you have the right fitting on the flexible line for the caliper then that should be just fine.  I did not, so i took the brake line bracket off my old IFS stuff and made a custom short hard line off the caliper.

Probably too late for the OP but here is another idea. Use an extended brake line for the rear, MCBR-131, which is male to female and the same length as the front extended lines. That way the line goes directly to the caliper with no extra fittings or hard line.

Is this still long enough without the extra few inches of the hard line?

Plenty long enough for my build. 89 Runner, classic SAS, 4" front springs, lines run from the stock hard line on the frame to the caliper.

I never had brackets to mount my hard lines.  Ghetto i know!  Never ripped a line out though.  Always had spare brake lines with me as well.

And fyi. If you ever rip a brake line.  You can thread a 10mm driveline bolt into the T-fittings to stop the leak.

Thats how mine are now. I had one shop make a comment about it. If I decide to change it up one day then I might do something like petenewell mentioned, or double up some stock rear lines.

Its not the best idea to eliminate the hard line. It is there because if the heat that comes off the brakes.

Even though the braided lines are steel braided there is still a rubber or plastic line inside them.

Id fab up a mount like oops did.  :beerchug:
