Throttle body injection

Found this site.. Affordable-fuel-injection.com
They offer a Tbi kit for Toyota 22r and the strait 6 motor. Has anyone here used this setup? It about $1000 minus shipping. I think it would be more cost effective than swapping all the carb stuff for efi.

I've heard of guys modifying the TBI off a 2.5 GM 4 cyl to work on the 22R's.

After a quick search, if your handy with electrical stuff, find a TBI off a 2.8 v6, swap in the injectors from a 2.5 4cyl, and it should work.  Just need all new sensor ecm and such.  I need to maybe do some research on this.  It has been one of those in the back of my brain things, ever since I read about it years ago.

That sounds much cheaper and I'm not too bad with electrical, but don't think that's something I would try. Unless the parts were stupid cheap.

I built a 22R supercharged (Camden/LC Engineering) rig.   The supercharger was draw-through and had an option for a holley carb.
I found an adapter for holley to TBI style and dropped in a TBI from a 4.3L Chevy.

I controlled it with megasquirt.  All of the wiring was simple add in.  No timing control, the 22R timing is mechanical.  All said and done, under $500...

The 4.3L is a lot of carb for 22R, even a supercharged one.   Likely a smaller TBI would be better.

"Fuel only" megasquirt is relatively easy, assuming you've got reasonable computer and wiring skills.
