I also found that said stems air down and up significantly faster than my prior ones. In other news I've ordered my 25mm upgrade, front range offroad bracket, new calipers, rotors, and seals. My neighbor machined down my ifs hubs for me. So pretty close to tearing into my front axles to do some much needed upgrades.
I'm assuming that the Equal doesn't come out when airing down? I wonder how much a person might hear/feel it on a more passenger style tire. I'm sure you couldn't hear rocks in your tires and mine are not too far behind.Hopefully, you'll have the steering issue isolated/resolved before tearing into the knuckles again so that you don't add any additional variables into the mix.
They are already a variable as the problem arose after installing knuckle studs.
Does the upgrade replace the ARP studs with bolts?
Plenty of people running atf. Toyota gear boxes require it or else they take a dump.
have you changed out your box before, I was just reading in the 3rz knowledge, that you where flushing power steering fluid out, and putting atf in. maybe seals are bad if you havent
Yes there was indeed some ps fluid in there before. I think the box is the likely problem too.
edelmann 8846, that's the brand and part number for 86-89 ifs steering box rebuild kit. 26.40 at amazon
Yeah that'll be a project for another time. If the box is the problem I'll be ordering a psc replacement.
3 week lead time for psc box. So much for that out.
Still no caps to remove the ram? Is there a problem with going without hydro? If not we can rob my box for now if needed.
I have a rebuilt box drilled and tapped for assist.id be willing to send it to you and if it works, send me a hundo.the guy I bought it from said the restrict or plate is not drilled out so you'd have to do that.lemme know.i went to full hydro so don't need itSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Never heard of any restrictor plate on the box that needs drilling out. I've heard of it on the pump?
Absolutely I do. What was it drilled to? 1/4 npt?
It is a super common issue. Tapping the starter with a hammer will usually work as well
Glad it's fixed. Anything else that we don't know about?
