I've never welded and have always wanted to.  But here's a link to my buddies build up, and his rig has some of the best welding I've ever seen.   :yesnod:

Got to be honest
But those steering arm welds are not good
Way way too spaced
And cold

Old thread, but I'm new to the forum and playing around in the different topics... before these pictures go up, there's a reason I'm not a welder...

-first time playing with a welder, it went horrible until my coworker turned up the heat

The bumper holds though

This is round 2 with the welder, I'm very inconsistent half is decent and the other half is dog doodie

I think with instruction and practice I could get better but it's just not feasible with a crappy welder at work and no time to play with it, all of the two welds I've done have just been fitting and burning with no practice

I don't weld but work with a few incredible welder at the shipyard. Multiple inch thick materials using a mirror while in a cramped awkward confined space and being held to a volumetric inspection standard using ultrasound or radiography. Lots of wimps, but there are a few that amaze me with what they can do.

Welding is truly an art form.

I am no expert but can produce a functional weld.

I remember doing full pen welds one two inch thick steel, X-ray quality. In a day you could only go about 8 inches

Well, it's nothing fancy, just my 220v lincoln, but I think it's decent for no formal education on welding other than youtube and practice...

It ended up really nice, and it's still holding lol...
