Will you fit in a first gen?!

Yeah. I can fit. Even more so with after market seats.
If you see it, its for sale.

It's all about the shoe choice...

Shoe horn you mean. I put racing seats in my 80 rig and it's great for wheeling but not a long cruise. The beat 1st gen set up for comfort I've done is a 2nd gen split bench with the armrest. Loved it.

I actually feel like my 4Runner has a much tighter fit when I have heavier shoes on.  It's odd that the small difference in shoes can be so noticeable.

If I'm not working on something I'm wearing flip flops. My shoes don't much change it for me. It's mainly the vent windows ans bucket seats that make it feel so small

I'm 5'8'' 140lbs and I feel a bit cramped in mine as well. I've always wondered how Marlin and BigMike make it work, they both appear to be pretty big guys.

Zippo, I gotta say I'm a bit sad to see this thing go, especially since I never got a chance to see it in action, after the build. On the other hand, I'm looking forward to seeing what you put together next, especially if its a first gen :smokin:.

BigMike is not a big guy.  I'd guess he's closer to your 5' 8" than my 6' 0".

I disagree. He seemed over six feet when I saw him.

I drove little steve first gen this past summer and was fine. I'm more worried how I'm going to fit my pitties with me.

As for big I'm going to say 5' 10".

I have not seen him since 2008, so...

I have it from a reliable source that BigMike is 6'-0".

I drove Steve's truck for a decent amount of the freeway miles down to the rubicon and I'm 6' and 200 lbs. and had no complaints about comfort, other than the noise. I think bucket seats make a big difference.

Noise? What noise? Sorry i cant hear a word your saying... Might have something to do with screaming input bearings and the fact we threw the soggy carpet out....
Im 6'1" and 252lbs. I fit. No sweat.
Seat choice is critical though, factory buckets are the way forward

I don't see how. My 83 is running factory buckets all the way slid back and I get uncomfortable after an hour or so. I even put a smaller steering wheel. My 80 that i swapped 2nd gen split bench to was nice.

I installed Steve's seats and pushed them further back than factory holes. Might have something to do with it. That being said I don't know why anyone would want to chose a standard cab toyota. Cramped as hell. I am cramped in my runner with my buckets pushed back. Then again I'm a big b*std. So is zippo though.

Dingman.

I feel like i have more room in my 3rd gen xtra cab pickup then i did with my 2nd gen runner. :dunno:

Cuz the price was right at the time. It is tight for me, but the Corbeaus help a lot.

Time to go wheelin!
