I love S-K. I have bought them all my life. Some of them even say S-K Wayne on them.

How old do you think that is...

Engine building is all about the little details. It takes a long time and I hope not to have to do it again. I say that but I love doing it. heh.
If you see it, its for sale.

Finally! I pick the block up tomorrow. I hope they did a good job. I have everything else cleaned and ready to go. Also checked the Crank to Rod oil clearence. Perfect at just over .001. I really like using the dial bore gauge. Really takes my enigne building to the next level.

If you see it, its for sale.

I am not feeling quite that good! That sounds more like my kind of assembling though. I can't keep up with Zippo.

It was a nice day for it today, still a little cool out.

I wore a light jacket and was happy as a cat in a fat pumpkin.

So I was in a rush before. But the build is going. Should finish up saturday.

So a first for me, after taking with Jim a 22re. The pistons and bore only got a spray of WD40, no oil on the rings. He says its the only way to go. Everything else is looking really good!

I always have a few bolts no matter how careful I am i'm like  :dunno: goes here, yeah that looks right.

Only WD-40? Hmmm... I've always used oil when installing piston rings and pistons... Interesting... What was his reasoning behind this?

I would think at least ATF because it has some lubricating qualities.......

Yeah I've built at least 20 engines, gas & diesel... I have always used delo 15w 40 on the cylinder walls plus soaked the pistons as well... Makes me curious...

The piston wall shouldn't ever touch the cylinder, only the ring. And it should have oil moments after start. That fist moment is get hot and sets the the cylinder. Right or wrong, he makes his living building them, so why not.

Cheesemaker

I've heard of many things.  From 90 wt to vaseline.  I think the main thing, is you need to lube them mainly for installation.

Most engine rebuilders I know locally will pull the spark plugs and crank the engine over several times, before startup, so everything has been primed before its put under load.

True, best thing to do is prime the oil system before initial startup.

ITS RUNNING! Needs more run time for the megasquirt to get things right. But its good. The most smoth running 22re I have ever built. Started right up. The new crossmember hits the exhaust to that needs to be reworked. But other then that its looking good.

NOT ONE LEAK

Also the cam is the same from the old motor. So no need to break it in again. Just so you don't think i'm crazy or something.

Degree the cam. I was a little advanced, which is good for low end torque. 108 instead of a 106

This is the fitting I made to move the IAT into the manifold. Worked Great!

No more Flapper box!!!!
