Body and Frame Compatibility
« on: Feb 24, 2014, 11:49:10 AM »
I am asking this for a friend because I only know about my Tacoma.  I ask Marlin because the early model experts are here.

Will a '90 body fit on an '83 frame? (I'm guessing they would both be regular cab or both be xcab :dunno:.)

Will the body mounts bolt right up or are they in different locations?

Do I need more info from the guy?

Thanks guys.

No, but you can make anything fit with a little bit of determination...

Would the body mounts of the '90 be the same width as the '83 frame rails?  That would make it a lot easier.

I was thinking attach them to the body, then drop that onto the frame.  Then just adjust height of each mount to sit level.  Make the frame side connections for the mounts in the location of the '90s

Better than putting the '83 mounts on the frame and then modding the body to fit that configuration right?
