R154 Information
« on: Jan 10, 2014, 07:41:47 AM »
Hi guys,

new here :) am a mkiv supra owner. I've emailed the MC team and waiting on a reply regarding details on rebuild components.

While going through the box rebuild process thought I'd join here.

Can't find any information on the forum regarding R154 boxes :(

Are they super uncommon here?

I think the R-154 gearbox was only offered in the supra. In the trucks the most common transmission is the R-150. They also used the R-151, but only for two years, only in the pickups and only behind the turbo motor. Fortunately I beleive most of the internals in R series transmissions are the same. Did your car come with the R-154 from the factory? Behind what motor? I thought that the supra had a six speed gearbox.

It came from a 1JZ mk3 supra. I'm looking to install it into a mk4, but wanted to have a box rebuild/upgrade before I installed it.

I'll do some research into the gearing, would be good news if the parts are the same as the R150 for ease of component selection.
