JDM 3vze with R150
« on: Oct 14, 2013, 10:38:15 AM »
Found a JDM motor and trans for my 91runner, but before I shot my self in the foot wondering about the trans.  The JDM stup comes as a 3vze with 5sp manual and a electric push button transfer case.  I believe all I have to do is swap the transfer case.  I don't see why the trans would be different.  Anybody know??

Thank you.

P.S.   This is not my first JDM swap,  I know fittings and sensors need to be swapped sometimes.  Most of my swaps have been motors though.  Toyota supra motors to be exact.

:welcome: to our :turtle: land 4RUNTOYZ

I don't know the exact setup but I'm 99% sure it has the same bolt pattern as our stateside mechanically-shifting chain drive t/cases. It's gonna be a R150F transmission. Worst case you could just swap the tail housing for a USDM version and be golden. I'd say to go for it.

P.S. What have you been swapping JDM M- and JZ-engines into? I swapped a JDM 4A-GZE engine into my 1987 MR2 back in 2000 :burnout:

Thanks for the welcome, I have been lurking for years.  Mostly drooling over the awesome stuff on here.

Thanks for the thoughts on the swap, I think you are correct.  Decided if we're not correct I'll just wire up the electric transfer case.

Mostly swapped 7m non turbo to turbo setups in mk3 supra's.
