best power steering pump for ram assist.
« on: Sep 06, 2013, 07:13:57 PM »
Well like the title says who makes the best power steering pump? I have killed 3 'Yota pumps and I dont like the low rpm (lack of power) with the moded Toyota pump any way. So that leaves me with the TG, PSC or a Howe. What are you guys running and how do you like them? My Runner see's a lot of high RPM's while snow wheelin' 5,200 to 6,000 at times. But she crawls too. Am I asking too much from a pump?

I have been very happy with the pump I got from PSC. I went through three modded pumps in one season. Been running the PSC for about eight years without a problem on HA and full hydro. This has been with a mixture of crawling and snow wheeling. My rig is not a DD.

I have been very pleased with my PSC pump. I ended up making a bracket out of some 1"x 1" angle that attaches to the shock hoop to keep the resi above the pump.

Good to know. I have read some reviews of the PSC pump on some Heep forums. The guys that have had the pumps for a few years loved them and the guys that  had bought them in the last year or so burned  them up in 1 to 6 trail rides. Kinda wondering if the quality has gone down hill? How many years have you guys had the pumps?
