86 XtraCab...  Removing rear interior pieces...

I've looked at this and can't quite figure out how to remove the rear panels below and around the rear and rear side windows without destroying them.....

Carpet is easy, door panels are easy, front kick panels are easy.

I need to weld down the seat mounts (broken spot welds) that the seat brackets are attached to, and figured while I have the seats and carpeting out, I'd add some sound/heat insulation under the carpet and behind those rear panels; plus add speaker wiring for the rear speakers I'll eventually install.  (and fix the stretchy cord for the mesh pockets on the back panel)

Pictures would really really be great......
Thanks
Ed

I quess I'll answer my own question...........

Rear panel (with mesh holders):

1. Remove rear package tray.
2. Remove rear carpeting.
3. Your going to sacrifice the 4 plastic pop rivets up top......
4. Start at top corner and pull (sacrificing the pop rivets) until they either break apart or come out.  This also will pull it out from under rear window rubber.
5.  There are 3 strips of glue holding it on.   2 horizontal on either side in middle, and 1 vertical dead center.   You reach your hand behind it until the glue lets go.

Rear plastic side panels around/below rear windows:

1.  Remove rear panel (see above)
2.  Remove seat belt and package tray brackets from sides
3.  Remove windlace from rear of door opening
4.  Slowly pull plastic panel off.   It's under the rubber molding for the rear side windows and rear window.

Also note the following:

There's a hole behind the rear side panels in the sheet metal for mounting a speaker just above the package tray on either side.

A round 6.5" speaker will fit flush.........

get me some pictures so i can refresh my mind. they are really easy to remove. remove all the rubber molding around the door it helps hold those panels down, and i believe there is one in the quarter window too, i think there is some plastic push clips that hold the panel on too.. those are hard to save.... can be done though,  unbolt the seat belt top and bottom. where the belt goes through the rear panel... theres a tiny trim piece that snaps into the panel... unsnap that out and then slide the belt through.  uuhhhh i might be missing something..... pics will help me remember though

I'm considering replacing my tore up headliner and if I remember right those panels would have to come off. If anyone else is removing theirs pics would be great.

Next time I see an extra cab at the junk yard I might have to practice removing the rear panels.
