BigMike has one off a ford explorer with disconnects rigged up. If you can find his build thread or pics it's in there. I pulled on off an explorer but have yet to put it on.  Unloaded I don't really need all the time it but with a 4runner full of 800 lbs of camping stuff, food and the family it would be nice for cross country highway stuff and mountain passes on the interstate.

In this thread is what Erik B did on his 97 runner, he used the torsion type sway bars that he bought the parts at Rock Equipment in Lincoln, CA. This is a big thread so it will take some digging!

Also on his web page it shows the swaybar he ran on his 86 runner.

Some people say a swaybar will make no difference on a rig, I am here to tell you they make a whole lot of difference in the handleing, especally if it is a DD.

I used one from the front a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I installed it in the rear of my truck. Made all the difference in the world! I can usually hammer down in 3rd gear on some decent off ramps with no trouble at all. made the biggest difference when I was fully loaded down heading to MCR last Sept. It was nice being able to take the corners without that heavy lean with the weight we were carrying. I used heims and made all my own brackets to the frame. I DD mine as well. 8)

I used the currie anti rock system. The bushing tubes install just like your shackle tubes, the bar runs under the trans. Its clean but not cheap $400 plus

Jaysen, yes, I have pics. I'l have to find them and update my build with them. I know I have them on my computer. I've just been lagging on getting them added to my build thread. I'll make a point to do that.  :beerchug:

:psss: BTW, my sway bar install was just under $100. $45 for the bar with the factory mounting brackets and bushings from our local wrecking yard and about another $50 for the 1/2" heims I picked up at OSH. It may cost a little more but only because the other materials I used were stuff that I already had laying around.
