Crawl box w/bench seat?
« on: Dec 22, 2012, 04:39:33 PM »
I have 94 xtra cab I'm installing a crawl box in and was wondering if the twin sticks will fit with a bench seat or do you have go with bucket seats. If someone has some pics with twin stick and bench seat that would be great.

I think in order to keep the bench, you'll need triple sticks.

False! I ran duals with a full bench (not 60/40) and it worked just fine... After I trimmed the seat. If you decide to cut the seat you'll need to make a support to keep it from sagging. Otherwise, just get bucket seats. You can find a set of buckets for cheaper than a triple stick setup.

how s that a false statement? i think mk1 was asking if the crawl box fit WITHOUT modifing the bench seat ..

He did not specify, he asked if you could run it with a bench seat. Which you can do with some work.

X2. I've modified a bench seat and the resultes are sketchy unless you are alright with upholstering. I used staples hahahahhaa

Maybe one of you guys that modified the bench should post up some pics, so he can see it.

I would but I don't have any pictures of mine and I have bucket seats in it now. I literally just cut out what was in the way and added a little support under the seat so it didn't sag. I didn't care about it being pretty though.

I run triples from davez. Not cheap, but I personally dig the bench. I don't have everything set up perfect yet, have issues getting into double low reverse, but all other combos work great. I can get ya pics if you want

I have a 3rd gen bench in the front of my 4runner, the thing will not stay for sure. I just need to find a set of buckets from a nice honda, toyota or acura.

Ive got a bench seat with duals.  It was like that when I bought it.  The seat may have been moved back with some oakie inginuity.  I think the set up I have is pretty old.  Ill snap some pics and post them.
