ProComp 22r Heads
« on: Dec 15, 2012, 09:43:04 PM »
Wondering if anybody has used them before or even knows a website with a good review about these heads. My boss bought a pair of 302 heads from the same company and they have worked out pretty good for a street rod but i'm still curious to how they are with the import stuff.

Might as well go with LC Engineering. You know they are good.

welll procomps is 350...but it looks like nobody has tried it...so i guess i'll be the first and see what happens. If all goes south i'll give yall the heads up...plus i still have my old head which still has the option to be rebuilt.

update on the head: total cost came out to 375. "CNC" head or what ever they call it and a build kit from P.E.P.

My boss did a small porting job on it...basically just cleaned the  intake ports etc. nothing fancy
I'm going through looking over the whole head for and extra metal sticking out that i don't need...but for the most part its looks good.

Head and intake studs...i'm holding off on head studs at the moment just because i'm going to go through the motor again later to do a metal guide timing set.

A few cons...the cast they used was meant to be "beefier" so the rear...hook or support to lift the motor out needed some love to fit.
