Could I get by without changing out the driveshafts on the front and rear if I went this route spring wise?  I could probably come up with a sqaure front if worse comes to worse but how about the rear?  I'll have enough for hy-steer and some junkyard springs but not driveshafts.

Thanks
Aaron

I've got 63" chevys in the rear and no driveshaft problems. Just make sure you keep your axle in the same location.

with rears up front there is not enough spline in the stock shaft-will come apart for sure. any rear spring can be installed to keep the same center as factory spring. square tube the front for a cheap shaft-you're looking for 7-8" of slip. $15-20 and a couple hours and you have your front connected. why use fords unless you're sure of the spring rate and they're free.

Rears up front move your frint axle forward to inches..your driveline will be too short,,,they also flex too much and your stock slip yolk is too short... square is beefy and cheap but not hi speed friendly and some make a little bit of noise..

Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!

the rear should be ok.  I have about 7-8 inches of lift in the rear (with chevy springs, shackles, and blocks) and didn't have any problem with my driveshaft untill i put my dual cases in.

I was thinking of using the Ford springs over the Chevys for one reason, they are a bit shorter.  I am trying to stay away from using blocks in the rear and getting enough lift to clear 37" MTRs with as much trimming as need be.   Anybody else have any suggestions on rear springs?  I know there is a ton of info out there and I've read hundreds of posts on rear springs.  I'm still not sure which route I want to take.

you can still use your stock lengthed ft drive shaft if you make it the right length i had rears up front and it never came unsplined you have too add a lil more too the length but it wont hurt it if you use bump stops up front too control up travel but i dident even have those just stock rears with 2 chev 1/2 ton leafs in there and it flexed great and never had the driveshaft come appart on me. only time i figured out it was a lil too long was when i jumped it and it bottomed out the suspension and split the u joint and the slip yoke all the way too the ft 3rd member.
Good luck on ur swap
adam
If you didn't make it, and it ain't broke, you didn't try hard enough.
