91 22re cutting out
« on: Aug 26, 2012, 08:33:49 AM »
I have a 91 standard cab 22re that randomly cuts out under load and on the highway. It can be driven around town all day long and never does it. My first thought was water in the fuel, but that wasnt it. Then maybe a semi-clogged fuel filter so I put in a new one (pain in the ass) and it still cuts out.  Im stumped! Any help would be greatly appreciated. The truck has 290k.

Check the rubber tube that goes from the AFM (air filter) to the TB (throttle body) for cracks. Check it real good, especially in the accordion sections.
