I put my box an inch forward, because the springs are longer a total of 3 inches with springs and drop box and 1 inch from a relocator.Pic is to far away but I bolted everything up and estimated how far the the shackle would move back then tacked the box on once I was happy with where it sat. I put the front end together and set the truck on the box and slowly added wieght by lowering my floor jack and left it in place for extra support then tapped the dropbox around until it was centered and forward enough.
Sounds like more tree huggin hippie bull :pokinit:

I moved my axle about one inch forward with rear springs.  The front spring bolt is like one inch back of stock and my shackles just bearly hit the frame on compresion.  But once the shackles hit the frame the springs are already flat so it doesn't do anything, just rubs.  I have 2 inch lift shackles.  So if you move the axle forward 2 inches with rear spring the shackle won't hit.
