must of been on a chain  i would think a strap would break or slip off be for the ball wound break.

Straps make great rubber bands, load them up with a metal object attached to it and let'r fly. That's why when using a strap you don't want the type with the metal hooks on the ends. People just don't realize that a trailer ball is not designed to take a load in that fashion. Plus we don't know what it was attached to was it a receiver style or was it mounted to a bumper.

Hitch or bumper, doesn't even matter, the shaft snapped either way. Scary :pokinit:.

hahahah oh god thats great. and i wouldnt be surpsied if it was strap. they have massive breaking strength. my climbing lines are about as big around as my thumb and rate at 8,000.
