If the USGS map is incorrect I surely wouldn't trust a garmin!!

both especially when locating my way back to the starting piont camp/car.

I'm pretty sure I can do the same thing with my iPhone, just drop a pin from my current location when I'm at the truck then no matter where I go I can always find my way back even if theres no signal for the map...

No just the regular iPhone map, select current location then drop pin, it can get satellite from anywhere but only needs the data service for the map background... So you won't show a map but you can see where you are in relation to the pin that you dropped at the starting point, just remember not to drop two pins, unless you constantly drop pins along the way you could follow them back to the first one I guess... ??

I'm supposed to go with Anthony Benedetti who is the OHV manager at prather and open up Dusy. I work out of the same office as Anthony but in a different department. The OHV program needs my tree felling and bucking skills. There is a bunch of large diameter hazard trees that need clearing. I'll repost when the job is done.
