Rubicon run, 6/1-6/3
« on: Jun 01, 2012, 07:33:43 AM »
We have a small group going to rubicon this afternoon. Planning in setting up camp at loon and making day runs in and out. If anyone wants to join us, we will have camp set up at loon lake campground just before the second dam.

You need to come up to get your 40s. Make a trip of it  :gap:

We headed up Saturday morning and set up camp at loon. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Made a few runs in during the day with the kids to Ellis and back. Then went in Saturday night at 10pm with just me and my neighbor in my rig. Made it to little sluice in 45 minutes. Noticed sparks from under good. Found out the battery hold down broke. Ended up strapping it down and headed back. Great weekend overall. Having a canoe with is made it really fun too.

I didn't get many pictures of the trail, but here is what I have of our trip...

Had to warm up a bottle for my daughter.

Canoed to the island at loon lake.

Saw this down on the side of 193 about 10 miles east of Georgetown. Called 911 and waited around a bit but no one showed up. Engine on the bike was cold. There was about 20 feet of barb wire fence down near the bike with a pretty steep cliff going down. We hiked around a bit but didn't see anyone. A few bikers stopped and helped look around but no one was in site. Not sure what happened.
