Thanks man, it's a fun project and I am starting to think going 22RE, W56 and Single Tcase for now is the way to go
(having a 2nd vehicle come winter time will be phenominal!!) lol plus quicker down time.

Get er' done

It's getting there, i do have to replace some connections that were cut to remove an item or cut, removed and otherwise MIA. lol so some wiring to do, havent had the urge yet to do that. otherwise its like small stuff minus the engine and trans/case.

For now, i used Rattle can brutha. Rustoluem glossy black paint in the "25%" size. it covered well actually. i want to do some marine paint and roll it on.

Ive got a total of like 4-5cans for the entire truck so far. I by no means am going for a showroom paint job.

in the cans of oil based rustoleum, there is a limited variety. i almost did roll on... but didnt wanna mess it up, i knew how the spray cans did.

well shoot.  thanks matt, that never popped up on unread topics.

hmmm, my top is faded and the roof of it is sun bleached. I painted the camper shell that i had on my first 85 (that is wierd to say) with just rattle can black. It turned out but wasnt that tuff when I brushed trees and that. Walmall has a rubberized under coating in a can like bed liner I was thinking about too. I know I want to do my floor but idk about the top. If I had an extra 1700 id never look at a hard top again. Soft tops are bling!

I looked for the undercoating and bedliner in the cans. they were out. i so would of used that!! agreed though, the spray cans just dont hold up to the enviroment. but for $20 bucks for a whole paint job? im not complaining... just respray the scratches and :pokinit: lol

then i can run a small and big turbo setup.... no lag and boost throughout the powerband. and its different. no one has done it, they go straight to the 3.0 2jz.

But i am going with a 22RE setup for now and doing the 2.5 1JZ-GTE, R151F, etc.. as a phase two and saving up everything.

I love my carb truck.  It's a fairly stock '80 longbed with lockers and 31s and it wheels almost as good as my 4runner.

As long as the head has the bosses to mount an EFI intake, it will be converted. ive long talked about running a carb instead. but i dont know them well. if anyone can point me toward some usable links for efi to carb swaps feel free. otherwise.... stock she stays for now.
