New to me 1996 4runner
« on: Feb 08, 2012, 03:31:23 PM »
I have always had 1st gen 4runners, don't know how that happens but anyway, I finally ended up with a 3rd gen 4runner.  So far, I love it. It has a 2 1/2" lift, 285/70/17 Pro Comp Xtreme All Terrains on black FJ Cruiser wheels (pretty much what I would have done to a stock one so that worked out nice)  Anyway, here are a few pictures....

85 4runner, 36" Iroks, locked 5.29's, 30 spline Longs, MC 4.7:1 single case, bobbed 12"
96 4runner 2 1/2" daystar, 285/70/17 Pro Comp Xtreme Allterrains on black 17" FJ wheels
88 ext cab pickup bone stock, 1st gen tacoma wheels wrapped in 30x9.50x15 BFG Allterrains

Nice third gen Runner. Any plans for it or just keeping it as is?

It has a 176,000 miles on it and runs really well. But I do have a couple things I am going to do to it. Pretty much maintenance issues like, denso plugs, oem plug wires, a B&M trans cooler, and sounds like a wheel bearing in the right front is making a little noise so I guess I'll look at that a little closer. But other than that, I'm gonna treat it like all the other Toyotas I've had.  Keep the oil changed with Toyota filters and keep check on things like timing belt and drive it!
