Gas problem
« on: Feb 07, 2012, 09:47:04 AM »
Okay guys I have a problem. My yota normally does well on gas mileage. Around 20 mpg. Now, I bought a bass boat last summer decided to pull it with my yota. It has a 22re 95 model. Noticed a change after the summer of fun. Mpg dropped to about 17 with normal driving. It smokes on start up, cuts out a little at idle after it worms up. Doesn't use oil, water level is normal. Please give me a list of what to try or replace to get mpg back to normal.

I would suggest pulling your plugs to look at the color.  If it has been a while since you changed  your plugs you now is the time.  Sounds  like you might be running rich.  If so, your old plugs will come out dry and black.
