Topic: 1996 3RZ heat prob?? Help

Ok so Today I took a trip to get sum parts... Turned my Tacoma
Off was In the parts store for 10 min came back out and it started but with a mis.. And
A cloud of steam..smoke looking crap.. So I poped the hood and felt my hose's
Top one was worm bottom was cold.. Pulled the plug cold water..
So put a new stat in it.. It don't get hot but the bottom hose fills cold.. And tops
Worm?? Bad pump?? I flushed the radiator and drove it 6 miles no heat
Out of the heater..well kinda worm.. Not really..

What do you guys think? Napa wants 100 bucks for a pump .. So need sum info before I
Start throwin cash at it..

pumps have fins, they usually just leak.
is or was the water/anitfreeze extremely rusty?

It was brown . And looked like mud.. I flushed it out ..
The timp reads about 1/2 way on the dash..

drain the system and make sure theres no blockage

I did nutting came out and it started to flow clear and nice .. But why would it steam so bad that one time like I had sea foam in it.. And is 1/2 way on the Gage in the dash norm?

how hot was the motor?
the guage may be wrong
