What type of oil from newly rebuilt tranny?
« on: Dec 28, 2011, 08:56:41 AM »
I'm putting one of the Marlin Crawler rebuilt transmissions in my '88 4Runner and was advised to initially run a break-in oil in it. I'd appreciate any advice on what type of break-in oil and where to get it. Additionally how long do I run the break-in oil before replacing with the normal oil?
Thanks
Dave

^^^^ Good advice, maybe run a good synthetic after break in. You should have a magnetic drain plug, check it for anything unusual, things larger then very small slivers of metal.
