Will a lock right locker ride rough on the road in the rear axle or should I put it in the front axle. Were would it give me the best advantage off road.

I never really cared for my lockright in the back on road.  Was happy with the one in the front axle though.
We just put a spartan locker in the front diff of my buddys 4runner and he is happy with it.  Says it is different drving it in the snow, but i never had an issue when i had mine.

Either front or back, you will be happy with the extra traction offroad.

If you only have one locker put it in the rear. From personal experience I ran only one locker before put it in the front made one trail ride and was not happy one bit with the performance . The front had no weight and the vehicle just would spin the tires and not climb.  (my .02)
When you climb the weight gets transferred to the rear of the vehicle putting most of the weight on the rear axle. So the rear axle would benefit most from the locker.
Nothing puts a smlie on my face like the green glow of 4x4 on the dash !

If you have to lock only one end lock the rear, it does the most work for you as far as performance goes.  Better yet though: Weld your rear and put the locker in front!
