:yesnod: Should work! The adapter in 23 spline is for the output to the rear case. And if you're going to use the 23 spline 4.7's it will bolt up to the crawl box.  The only thing that will remain 21 spline will be your tranny output and the crawl box input.

This may be easier to understand. Transmission output 21--> crawlbox input 21...crawlbox out 23--> rear case input 23. Keep in mind that when you buy a 23 spline adapter yu are only adapting the crawlbox output and not the crawlbox input where it couples to the transmission.

It is considerably stronger. But if you're running just a 22R/RE, I wouldn't be concerned at all about running the 21 splined stuff. But if you're just thinking ahead for future upgrades then by all means do it. I'm running all 21 spline at the moment and have for the last 3.5 years without issue behind my 22R. But I'm looking to go to 23 spline stuff since I'm looking to do a 4.3L chevy swap. :gap:

ya im just on a 22r on propane and 37s but wouldnt mind the extra strength of the 23 spline since its all the same price.

Nothin wrong with that! If you ever decide you need a 23 spline input for the crawlbox you can just replace the input gear too.

It's not as bad as some people make it out to be...it's usually due to ignorance that makes it sound so bad, Grante, some of the rules suck but there are some that do make sense and are for the better of our air quality and so on. I'm not entirely against it. Especially when you see some of the Piles of :pokinit: you see running around now and again.  :suprised:

Not that I know anything about the rules on Oregon, but you might wanna check that out beforehand in case you need some time to get any issues straightened out to keep your rig registered. Just saying.  :smokin:

I don't know if Oregon has referee stations like we do here in Ca. But that's who we have to go see for approving such a mod.

all we do is have a station we drive in a we get out like my 83 they take a mirror and look under and make sure it has a cat, then stick a snifer thing in the tail pipe and tell you if you pass or not, its pretty easy

they tell you what to do to fix it, and you can go threw as many time as you need, just gotta work on your truck or car in the road, on the their property, and they give you a high lighted paper on what all results were

That's not so bad. As long as you don't have something they won't pass for some reason... i.e. propane set up. Is that something they would fail you on?   :-\
