22R Tto GM auto?
« on: Oct 24, 2011, 02:18:12 PM »
wanting to adapt an 22r to a 350 turbo transmission, is there an adapter out there? or is there a better suited auto trans?
I have 22R and an 4-1 Atlas case, don't want the Toyota auto, and don't want a manual, thanks!

Does the 22r even have enough power to spin a turbo 350?

Why not an A340? Just as tough or tougher than a TH350. Easy to adapt to, like they came that way, I just replaced my 22r with a 2RZ in front of a dual cased A340, DWT has a A340 with an Altas. It's just not a matter of an adapter plate, starter location and mounting, TC size and bolt pattern, lot of stuff that isn't simple to adapt.

a340 is electronic, nuff said, I know there is more to it than an adapter plate, that's why I am asking, see if its been done, and I have a new 350 and an Atlas 4-1 case, was going to go 4.3 but I want to use this motor

Better check it out you don't need a computer on a A340, well at least I don't. :smokin: I do get why you want to keep your TH350.
