we have a 1990 4-door 4Runner,, it has a 22RE, 5-speed, and CHAIN driven t-case(no nuteral position on the shifter),originally had auto hubs, what is the tranny and t-case?,
could  the chain case be exchanged out for an  geared t-case ?

find the (info) plate in the engine bay... not the serial number plate, the info plate.

there will be a long number at the bottom, it contains a ton of info...    the last 3 characters will note the tranny.

- - - - - - - - - - - W56   or whatever it is.

good luck and take care....

It is Pass side chain drive? If so it can be swapped with the V6 adapter.

Part #V6T-4CX

look under special adapters........it is WAY out of date but the 3.0 and 3.4 plate is available
