failed t'case mount- option other than stock?
« on: Oct 28, 2002, 06:15:49 AM »
hey guy's-

This weekend, the rubber stock t'case mount failed, even w/ the motor mounts chained. The C/V's knockin' on the crossmember every now and then

Priced out a NAPA replacement today at $114.75 and OEM from Toyota at $99.52

Anyway, I wondered if anyone has fabbed up one? I'm thinking about building one similar to a leaf spring eye/mount using standard bushings and 5/8's hardware.

Any thoughts, Comment's, or Suggestion's would be appreciated.

Mark

hey Brandon,

wish we had a good one here- but indeed, the PnP's up here are JUNK yard's. It's rare to even see a Toy in one. Even if they DID have one, they'd want $115.00 for it  :smack:

I'd also like to make something less prone to failure- I'm used to the vibrations from chained down motor mounts, so whats a little more buzzzzzzzzin', right?

hard mount it to a custom crossmember, and put a bushing on the crossmember to the frame - same idea as the front range crossmember..

I made my own crossmember, but used the stock rubber doohickey

I don't think they will move if the engine ones don't, and my engine ones are like you said - bolt through a bushing style - won't break..

hum, that could be an option-

I've got an All Pro dual t'case cross member-  I guess I'm gonna have to drop the whole mess and see what my options are.
