about ready to finish up my dual cases
« on: Mar 27, 2011, 02:18:16 AM »
i have a stock t/case mount that came with my donor case (looks to be in really good condition), my original plan was to buy 2 heavy duty transfer case mounts and new 3.0 motor mounts  from low range off road (same as trail-gear). would anyone think i could get away with just a heavy duty mount for the rear case and leave the stock one for the crawl box? and maybe get motor mounts later on down the road after maybe 1 or 2 trips thru some good trails like rubicon or fordyce

I hope you are not running a 4.7 in the front case  :shocking:. When I set up my cases, I used Sky's X member with an MC-07R10 and a 10 degree pie wedge I made from rectangular tubing to support the angle. I used one regular T-case support, you should be fine with one HD support. The running gear needs to be able to flex upon the rubber supports and if too many are used the torque from the low gears may eventually cause a breakage in a U-joint or mounting point. That is what those mounts are for; they allow the running gear to "float". One HD mount will be fine.
I've got the most liftedest truck in town, that little jap truck done stand no chance gainst my Chevy. My Chevy gots a V8 more lift an bigger tires, and an exhaust system, whats yer tuna can got, a V4, and them tires look like they is offa Saturn Corulla. The dealer instulled my lift, so ya no its done right, you just try to foller me throo them rocks an see what a reel truck can do.

Haha, I wasn't trying to insult your intelligence! A pic of your setup would be sweet when its done. Making use of what is already there is the way to go.
