Topic: 1985+ 22r head new or used wanted in fresno

Like the title says i am looking for a new or  used (good condition) head for my 85' 22r pickup. So if you have one or know of a place that's reasonable on one that i can buy new, please let me know. I am in Fresno, CA....Thanks in advance!- Mike

did some checking, i think either the valve guide or the seat fell out.  get that head off and shoot some pics. hopefully you can get one pretty cheap.

hey Mike   Rons machine on belmont and cedar has 22r heads too.  i think they're close to 300.

if you cant find a decent deal locally check Engine Builder he quality stuff and everything ships for free and hes in Oregon so orders shoul only take 2 days.

Thank for that info rustbucket. I think if i am going to spend around 300 local i will just get the engbuilder oem replacement head for 348.00.

if its just the seat like i think and the heads not damaged you may check to see how much for a new seat and valve. rons machine is where i got my stuff done at.

A couple hunderd I think, I bought an engine gasket kit, head, timing cover, oil pump, water pump, and timing set from them for about 1000.00

Hey "scoutrunner" got the head pulled tonight and took some pics.. and this is the verdict.......









AND THE OTHER HALF OF THE VALVE....


So plan is to pull it, bore it, and ultimately rebuild again. Most likely i will be going with a new Engine Builder Head.

Cant tell what caused it either.... The valve seat was intact and nothing seemingly abnormal except for the destroyed valve itself. Maybe an excessively tight valve??

what are you pulling, i would just clean the top of the piston, and put another head on it!! i dont think the piston would be bad, just some marks on the top from the broken piece. was the cylinder wal marked up too??

Take it to Hiatt.  They can repair that kind of damage for a good price.  And you are better off with the OE head.

I have had good luck with Hiatt my   I also have a spare 22r sitting in the back was running when I wrecked the truck. If I can help let me know. I live in the Sanger area.
